Willie Ray Orum

Willie Ray Orum, 77, of Garrison, Texas, passed away on April 18, 2022, in Garrison, Texas. He was born on June 21, 1944, in Garrison, Texas to the late Johnnie and Lerma (Jopling) Orum. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Garrison Funeral Home in Garrison, Texas officiated by Bro. Darrell Pollard. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Garrison, Texas.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Friday, April 22, 2022, at Garrison Funeral Home in Garrison, Texas.

Willie was a fun-loving man that enjoyed the guitar, country music and riding horses in his younger years. He was always happy eating a ribeye steak or barbeque, and spending time with family playing dominoes. Willie graduated from Garrison High School in 1963. He was proud to be a Vietnam veteran and served in the US Army. He was a member and Past Master of the Garrison Masonic Lodge. Willie and his wife, Janet are members of the Arlam Baptist Church in Garrison, Texas.

Willie is survived by his wife, Janet Sue Orum; sister, Doris Virginia Irvine and husband, Kenneth; twin sister, Lillie May Williams and husband, Ray; brothers, Joe Edd Orum and friend, LaVerne Roskydal, and Fred Allen Orum and wife, Claudia; sister-in-law, Helen Jerriene Orum; stepson, Greg O’Neal Blount; and numerous nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great -nieces and nephews.

Willie is preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Orum; mother, Lerma Fay Jopling Orum; and brother, Otis Watson Orum.
