Shirlene Edwards

Shirlene Kimbrough Edwards, 72, of Garrison, Texas passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019, in Nacogdoches, Texas. Born June 13, 1947, in Nacogdoches, Texas to the late Doyle Turner and Mildred Faye (Sanders) Kimbrough.

Shirlene was raised in Garrison, Texas. She was a graduate of Garrison High School. Shirlene graduated as Salutatorian in the Class of 1965. She then attended Massey Business College for nine months. She met the love of her life, Stephen “Steve” Edwards, and the two were married in December 1966, spending many years together until his passing. They raised two children, Andy, and Johnny. Shirlene worked many years in the financial administrative field. She enjoyed listening to country music, reading, and watching movies. Great times were those spent cooking for her family, and spending time with her children, especially her grandchildren, Turner and Caroline.

She is survived by her sons, Andy Edwards and Johnny Edwards; brothers, Richard Kimbrough and wife Sheron, Steve Kimbrough and wife Jana; grandchildren, John Turner Edwards, and Caroline Annette Edwards.

Shirlene is preceded in death by her husband, Steve; and parents, Doyle and Mildred Kimbrough.
