Ruby Ann Cridland Pilcik, 57, of Nacogdoches passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in Carthage, Texas. She was born in Nacogdoches and absolutely loved being in her beloved East Texas. In 1980, she married the love of her life, Daniel “Pete” Pilcik. Through the years, they have made many memories with their family and friends. Ruby loved her children unconditionally and always went the extra mile to ensure they were happy and had all they needed. She was a devoted and loving wife who was passionate about anything related to family. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her kids and grandkids. To her, true joy came with the love of God and family. Ruby also enjoyed working puzzles, fishing and handcrafts. She loved singing and good music and of course, her precious cats. However, her most loved thing to have were turtles. She collected turtle trinkets as well as live ones to have at home and raise as her pets. She had many talents including cooking but was most efficient with her “doctoring”. Her kids called her “Dr. Mom” because she was always ready to step in when someone was injured. Everything from a stumped toe to a really bad cold, she had the best remedies! Her favorite holiday was Christmas when everyone was together celebrating the birth of Christ. She will be missed by those closest to her but the things they will always treasure are the memories made in simple times with each other.
Mrs. Pilcik is survived by her husband of 39 years, Daniel “Pete” Pilcik of Nacogdoches; her children, Matthew Pilcik of Nacogdoches, Jason Pilcik and wife, Dashennele of Nacogdoches and Ruth Ann Pilcik and husband, Erik Nutt of Nacogdoches; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Haylie, Jasper, Travis and Millie; and brother, Richard Cridland.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Barbara Cridland; sister, Sally Cridland and aunt, Joan Fountain.
Services for Mrs. Pilcik will be held at a later date.
