Mr. Williams passed away on December 25, 2022 in Nacogdoches, TX. He was born on July 26, 1938 in Crossette, AR.
To know Roddy was to love him. He was a man of his word, hard-working and loved his family completely. He enjoyed the time he spent on his property in Garrison and was happy having his family near him. He was honest and loyal; caring and giving; and his friends and family knew they could count on him for anything they needed. Roddy was exactly what he was suppose to be…a good man.
Roddy was born in Crossett, Arkansas and went to school in Lufkin where he graduated high school. Shortly after graduating, he honorably served in the United States Army for a little over 4 years. He was proud of the time he was enlisted and humbly spoke of it but the memories were not shared often. In 1960, he married his sweetheart, Fran, and they spent 54 years by each other’s side until her passing in 2014. Together, they raised their 2 children, Rex and Angie, and loved them dearly. During these years, Roddy owned a dairy and poultry farm with his parents, apartments and a container business. He made sure he took care of his wife and children and passed on many positive traits to both kids. He and Fran were happy living their dream life, that is until they had grandchildren and then realized the joy they brought was a totally different level of happiness. He was very proud of the young adults they were becoming. Roddy and Fran loved the grandkids and in most recent years, Roddy made many memories with his great grandson, Regan, that will be cherished for years to come. He also appreciated a good trip fishing for blue marlin with his best friend and son, golfing, and found great solace in simply mowing the yard. He was simple and liked simple things. In his younger years, he also experienced the delight of drag racing which he done with Hayes Adkison. However, he was happiest when surrounded by his family. His sense of humor, although subdued, and the love he gave to each person around him will forever be missed, but the memories they all have will carry on through the lives of those closest to him.
