Rhett Douglas Sarkies

A Celebration of Life for Rhett Douglas Sarkies, 7, of Garrison will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at the Garrison ISD football stadium.  

Rhett Douglas Sarkies, born July 19, 2014, fought the long hard fight with cancer from March 30, 2020 until May 1, 2022 when he passed peacefully in his mother’s arms. Rhett was born in Nacogdoches, Texas and grew up a die-hard Garrison Bulldog fan.

Rhett is survived his parents, Jasun Fitzgerald and Britany Sarkies; His Nanny, Amy Sarkies; His Papa, David Sarkies; His Step Grandparents, Coye & Wayne Smith and Micheal & Becky Fitzgerald; His brothers, Cannon Fitzgerald and Magnum Fitzgerald; His sisters, Kinzie Fitzgerald and Jacie Fitzgerald; His cousins, Ace Mitchell, Maddie Mitchell, Ella Braun, Gage Braun, Wesley Sarkies, Ava Sarkies, Channing Fox, Case Fox, Trinity Townsend and Doss Sarkies; His Aunts and Uncles, Troy & Bevyn Sarkies and Adam & Tiffany Fox, and Uncle Kelon Fitzgerald. Also multiple great grandparents, great aunts and great uncles.

Rhett is preceded in death by his Papa Bobby (Bobby Doss Bell).

Rhett lived his short life to the fullest. He was unforgettable and impacted everyone he came into contact with. Rhett wanted to spend his time hunting, fishing, riding his go-cart and hanging out with the boys. Rhett wasn’t your typical 7 year old. A good time to him was windows down riding on a back road listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd. A day with Papa, Bubba and Daddy was a perfect day for him.

Although Rhett has passed on from this life to the next, his legacy will burn bright in the hearts of these Garrison Bulldogs for years to come.
