Mary Alice (Farley) Richardson

Funeral service for Mary Alice Richardson, 97, of Garrison, will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Garrison with Bro. John McGuire officiating. Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, MO.

Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Garrison.

Mrs. Richardson passed away April 26, 2023, in Garrison.

Mary Alice was born in Amory, Mississippi on October 25, 1925, the daughter of Joseph and Alice Powell Farley.  She was raised alongside her 12 sibings, to know the love of Christ.  She loved the Lord, trusting Christ as Savior as a teen and actively serving Him throughout her life.    She taught a ladies Sunday School class at South Haven Baptist Church for over 20 years.  She looked for every opportunity to talk to someone about Jesus, even while she lived in the nursing home!

Mary Alice enjoyed cooking, sewing, and fishing...she loved fishing. She really enjoyed the years of fishing with Don after he retired from the railroad.  She loved her family and never missed family graduations, weddings, or special events. She loved crocheting and often handed out blankets that she had made to complete strangers.

Mary Alice is survived by her children, Susan Edgar & husband, Garry of Holliston, Massachusetts, John Richardson & wife, Diane of Spring, Texas and Dr. Ben Richardson & wife, Kate of Garrison, Texas; grandchildren, Shannon Edgar, Ashley Al-Bazi, Ryan Richardson, Jonathan Richardson, Andrea Keb, Erin Borghese, Shonda Boone and Kimberly McCraw; and 26 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Alice Farley; 2 husbands, Bill Jernigan and Don Richardson; infant daughter, Julie Richardson; daughter-in-law, Jane Beach Richardson; as well as her 12 siblings.
