Larry Dan Jackson

Larry Dan Jackson, 69, of Garrison, Texas passed away Saturday, February 15, 2020, in Garrison, Texas. Born June 13, 1950, in Athens, Texas, to the late Billy Griffen and Willie Faye (Morris) Jackson. Visitation will be held from 4-6PM on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Garrison Funeral Home, 886 US Hwy 59, Garrison, Texas. Interment will follow at a later date.

Larry was raised in Athens, Texas. He graduated Athens High School in 1968. Later he decided to serve his country by serving in the United States Army for several years. He later met, Carol Watkins, through his nephew, Billy Mitchell, who introduced the two. The two were soon married, February 14, 1997. There love for one another grew stronger each day. They have made many memories together over the last 23 years. Larry worked for Schwans food distributors for over 10 years. Larry then joined Pilgrim Pride and dedicated the next 15 years to the maintenance department, which many friends were made.

Larry was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed fishing, shooting guns, and collecting knives of any type. He loved his grandchildren dearly. He found great joy in cooking for them and entertaining them every chance he got. Larry was a bargain shopper, always finding his grandchildren great things at garage sales. He loved seeking to find great things he knew they would enjoy. Larry loved the Lord and was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife, Carol Jackson; daughters, Sarah Yochum, Kasey Morris; Cammy Knight and husband Randy; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends that will miss him dearly.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Griffen Jackson and Willie Faye Morris Jackson; sister, Lynn Mitchell; daughter, Tara Dillon.
