Julia Marie Stilley

Julia Marie Stilley, 87, of Nacogdoches, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, January 13, 2021. She was born October 21, 1933, in Garrison, Texas to the late Gene and Linnie (Hardy) Garrett. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2021 at Garrison Funeral Home, Garrison, Texas with Bro.Greg Hutson officiating.

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday, January 15, 2021 beginning at 10AM at Garrison Funeral Home, Garrison, Texas.

Marie was raised in Garrison. She met the love of her life, W. O. “Buster” Stilley and the two were married in 1950. Marie worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for many years. They had three wonderful children and raised them in Nacogdoches County. She enjoyed working on her farm, tending to the cattle and rattling up some fish with an old coffee can. She had a love for cooking and was well known for her skillet hamburgers. She always knew when her grandchildren were up to no good, because they would hear that four letter word SCAT! Above all else she loved her family.

Marie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Buster Stilley; parents, Gene and Linnie Garrett. Grandson: Chris Stilley, Brothers: Leo Garrett, Tommy Garrett, Boogie Garrett, Ray Garrett and sisters Rosie Stokes and Irene Kimbrough.

Pallbearers serviing will be James Hudson, Michael Stilley, Jayson Park, Bill Bickham, Seth Stilley, and Clay Stover.
