Jane (Cooper) Gentry

Graveside service for Jane Gentry, 83, of Timpson will be held at 10:00am on Monday, August 7, 2023 at Sunset Memorial Park in Nacogdoches with Rodney Lampin officiating.  Mrs. Gentry passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 in Timpson.  She was born on October 17, 1939 in Nacogdoches County.

Jane loved the outdoors.  She was an avid camper, fisherman and hunter.  She loved working in her yard and had beautiful flower beds and plentiful gardens.  Her family thought she made the best pickles and pickled green beans.  She was a hard-working young woman and exhibited that trait for the rest of her life and taught her children the same values. 

She married the love of her life, Willie Gentry, on April 16, 1960 and they had 50 plus wonderful years together.  Jane was always dependable and loving, took great strides to provide for her family and never backed down from something she believed in.  She was humble but knew the value of life.  No one ever had to question how she felt about something because she would surely let you know.    

Jane is survived by her children, Red Gentry and Kim Dyess; grandchildren, Brittney Lane & husband, Mark, Skyler Dyess, Dylan Branton and Corey Branton and great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Hadleigh and Parker as well as several nieces and nephews that she loved very much.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Willie D. Gentry; parents, Arthur and Maude Cooper and brother, Billy Cooper.
