Gilbert Earl Elliott, 63 of Garrison, Texas, passed away on January 9, 2022, in Benbrook, Texas.
Gilbert was born in Center, Texas to Grady Earl Elliott and Mary Avis Fults on January 4, 1959. He went to high school at Garrison High School and graduated in 1977. He worked as a groundskeeper for Texas A&M for several years and drove a truck throughout the East Texas area. He enjoyed playing many sports and was well remembered as a great baseball pitcher. He also loved to fish, go to the boats in Shreveport and attending the games of his favorite team, the Texas Aggies. He had many trophies and awards from his years of playing sports and had a talent to remember scores and plays of football games. He attended First Baptist Church in Garrison for many years and also attended First Assembly of God in Timpson.
Gilbert is survived by his son, Mason Taylor Elliott of College Station, Texas; brothers J.C. Elliott, of Bastrop, Texas, Homer Elliott and wife, Kyle, of Pasadena, Texas; sister Sally Elliott Courtney. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Grady and Mary Avis Elliott; brother-in-law, Billy Courtney; sister-in-law Vivian Elliott.
Funeral service will be held at Garrison Funeral Home on Sunday, January 16, 2022, 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Garrison Funeral Home on Sunday, January 16, 2022, from 12:30PM to 2:00 PM.
