Graveside services for Earnest Ray Watson will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at Walnut Grove Cemetery with Bro. Shak Arrington officiating.
Earnest Ray Watson, 55, of Lufkin, Texas, was born in Nacogdoches, Texas on September 16, 1966, and went to be with the Lord on March 2, 2022, at CHI St. Luke’s Hospital in Lufkin, Texas. Earnest lived with and was raised by his grandmother, Margline Watson and attended school in Garrison, Texas. At the age of 18, Earnest became a resident of the Lufkin State School for 37 years.
Earnest had a passion for music and using his camera taking pictures, especially during family visits. He truly loved his mother, Dorothy Ann Keith and grandmother. He enjoyed family holidays at his Uncle Si and Aunt Clotte Barrett’s house as Peanut Barrett would pick him up and take him back home to Lufkin during every holiday. He loved his visits and being with his family but at the end of the day he was ready to go home to his many friends and girlfriends at the Lufkin State School. He loved drawing and making his own birthday cards for all his family members. He enjoyed working in the Lufkin State School Workshop and loved all the workers in his home staff. He had many friends including his girlfriend, Kristie and his roommate, Joe, whom he loved. Earnest also loved being with his special friend and volunteer, Dan Maxwell. Earnest loved the girls and would spend his extra money buying them gifts.
Earnest was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Ann Keith and stepfather, Bobby Keith; and grandparents, Hollis and Margline Watson.
Earnest is survived by a host of cousins and friends from the Lufkin State School.
