Graveside services for Dorothy Jean Little Harris Staine, 95, of Garrison will be held at 3:30pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Greenwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the graveside from 2:00 to 3:00pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Garrison Funeral Home.
Dorothy Jean Little Harris Staine was born on September 25, 1930, in Pinehill on the farm delivered by her grandmother, Sally Little. Dorothy was raised on that farm in Pinehill her whole life. She had an adventurous childhood. Her most thrilling moment was driving a bale of cotton from Pinehill to Stockman behind a team of mules. Dorothy loved anything outdoors. She was an avid hunter and fisherwoman. Dorothy was a great cook and will be remembered for her turnip greens and hot water cornbread. She was a godly woman and was a member of the Garrison Methodist Church for many years.
Dorothy is survived by her son, Roy Harris & wife, Sheila; stepdaughter, Charlan Peoples; grandchildren, Amanda Harris and Kyle Harris & wife Karie; great-grandchildren, Bryce Harris, Britain Tyler, Braden Tyler & wife Alexia, Mckayla Harris and Aubrey Harris; great-great grandchildren, Eloise “Little Jewel” Tyler, Brinley Tyler and an additional great great grandson on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Howard Harris and Clyde Staine; son, Kenneth “Red Bird” Harris; parents, Joe and Clara Little and brothers, Robert “Bobo” Little and Dewayne Franklin Little.
