Joyce Delores Goodrum, 53, of Garrison passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2019 in Nacogdoches. She was born on June 9, 1966 in Baytown, Texas.

Joyce Delores Goodrum was born on June 9, 1966 in Baytown, Texas. She eventually settled in East Texas and called Garrison her home. She was a great mother who loved her children without end. She taught them, as best she knew how, to love others, make the most of every day, and treat everyone the same. Her kids were shown from an early age that no matter what life handed you, always do your best and you will never feel failure. Delores enjoyed cooking and would make pot roast and potatoes and carrots as often as her little family would eat it. They never grew tired of this. Her heart grew even more with the arrival of grandchildren, and just as every grandparent does, she loved them so very much. She was loved dearly and loved others deeply. She will be greatly missed by those closest to her.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Goodrum of Garrison; son, Ervin (E.J.) Goodrum and wife, Briana of Lufkin; 4 grandchildren, Taegan Kate Goodrum, Layton James Goodrum, Zackary Isaac Goodrum and Allison Sassette Goodrum; sisters, Arleen Joy Johnson and Burena Faye Mabe.
