Mrs. Matson passed away on February 19, 2021, in Nacogdoches. She was born May 27, 1947, in Norfolk, Virginia.
Cynthia Curry Matson was born on May 27, 1947 in Norfork, Virginia, the daughter of Ruby and Travis Curry. Cindy truly grew up traveling around the world with her mother and sister, as they followed the path of their dad during his military career. They were all very proud of his service and loved that he was honoring his duty to our country. Cindy had a sweet tooth for life. She was very dedicated to her children and stood by them through their lives. She had a great love for serving others which allowed her the understanding and compassion to be a very successful nurse. She spent many years as a breath of fresh air to her patients at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital. Cindy had several things most people had no idea about including the fact that she was the Midwest Arm Wrestling Champion of Peabodys in Spokane, Washington; or that she truly enjoyed living in Japan as a military child. She got her love of traveling, no doubt, from her mamma; she loved dogs and was great at playing Bingo! However, she always put family first because she loved them endlessly and was always willing to be there and help with anything they needed. Her favorite memories were having them all together with their families, as they sat around playing games, telling jokes or sharing stories which led to many hours of laughter.
Cindy is survived by her children, Travis Bielicki, Fred Bielicki and wife, Gwen, Lori Wells and husband, James, Dusti Alden, and Gigi Williams and husband, Jason; 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Travis Curry and sister, Marsha Cole.
