Charlie Bill Reneau, Sr., 78, of Garrison, Texas, passed away on January 31, 2022, in Garrison, Texas. He was born on October 3, 1943, in Joaquin, Texas to the late Joseph Nelson and Bessie Mae (Mitchell) Reneau. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, February 7, 2022, at Garrison Funeral Home with Bro. Shak Arrington officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Garrison Funeral Home.
Charlie was born in Joaquin but was raised in Garrison his whole life. He attended Garrison High School and joined the Army when he was just 16 years old. While in the Army he was a paratrooper and served in Korea. Charlie met Lynda in Garrison and they were married on May 7, 1976. They were married for 40 years at the time of her passing in 2016. Charlie served as Master and was a 32nd Degree Mason member of the Garrison Masonic Lodge No. 670 and also of the Order of the Eastern Star of Garrison. Charlie loved being outside and doing things with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and hog trapping. Reneau Roofing, Charlie’s roofing company, has served the Garrison and surrounding communities for over 45 years. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Charlie Bill will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Charlie is survived by his sons, Charlie Reneau, Jr. and wife, Monica, Keith Hutto and wife, Colette, Kevin Hutto and wife, Carla; daughters, Cathy Reneau, Amanda Guthrie and husband, Larry, Kim Mullins and husband, Jason, Christy Reneau; 16 Grandchildren; and 16 Great-Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Nelson and Bessie Mae (Mitchell) Reneau; wife, Lynda Reneau; brothers, Chester “Bud” Reneau, Tommy Reneau, and David Reneau; sisters, Marie Burleson and Joy Lopez.
