Amos Elliott Obituary

Amos Alfred Elliott, 80, of Splendora, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023, in Humble, Texas. He was born on October 7, 1943, in Rusk County, Texas to the late Amos and Jessie (King) Elliott. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2023 at Garrison Funeral Home in Garrison, Texas officiated by Pastor Rick Martinez of Bethel Community Church. Interment will follow at Caledonia Cemetery, officiated by Fred Duncan.  A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2023, at Garrison Funeral Home, Garrison, Texas.

Amos Alfred Elliott was born in Rusk County to Amos William and Jessie Clarice Elliott on October 7, 1943. He married Carolyn Elliott on February 23, 1963, in Timpson, Texas.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the Army and was awarded the Purple Heart.  Amos was a Cabinet Maker and could build anything he set his mind to, until he was physically unable to. Amos was involved in church his entire life, serving as a board member. He was currently attending Bethel Community Church in Houston. Amos was well known for taking in and taking care of many souls his entire life. He lent out a helping hand whenever possible to whomever needed it.

Amos is survived by his spouse, Carolyn Elliott, his daughter, Rhonda Pavlu; grandchildren, Laura Anderson, Noah Elliott, Sarah Elliott, Colton Pavlu, Kaitlin Pavlu, Shelby Pavlu, Hunter Pavlu, and Riley Pavlu; his sister, Patsy Tarver; and his great-grandchild, Ava Gomez.

Amos is preceded in death by his parents Amos and Clarice Elliott; his brother, Gordon Elliott; his sister, Sharon Boudreaux; and his two sons, Kevin Patrick Elliott and Lance William Elliott.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to American Diabetes Association.
